Online psychological therapy has proved effective in addressing various emotional situations such as anxiety, stress, sadness, apathy, demotivation, decision-making, low self-esteem, problem solving, parenting patterns, among others.

It is important to take into account that online psychological therapy is not indicated to treat major psychological disorders, nor to perform expert opinions for which face-to-face sessions are indispensable. It is also not indicated for childhood therapy since cognitive development of children require the real world. Adolescents from 16 years of age and older with parental consent may benefit from online therapy.

How is Online Therapy performed?

Initial Contact

From the first time we talk, either by phone or by written means, you can talk about the reason for the consultation and ask all the questions you might have about it or about us and how we work. We will be happy to answer all your concerns and know about you.

If you decide to schedule an appointment, we’ll agree on the means that suits you best, it can be by WhatsApp, Skype, FaceTime, Zoom video calls or the most comfortable means for you. Payment is paid prior to the appointment and is made via bank transfer or bizum.

Evaluation

A good intervention depends on a good evaluation, since if we fully understand the dynamics of the situation and all the factors associated with it, the techniques will be more effective and therapy will take less time.

Dialogue and observation allow us to do a good analysis, but we also have various types of interviews, questionnaires and psychological tests that give us valuable information to understand your reality, your resources and personal characteristics. According to the results, a diagnostic impression is established.

Therapy Information

Once we have fully understood your reason for the consultation, we will explain the results to you in detail. It is very important that you understand why you feel like you do, what your strengths are, what aspects can be changed, to set goals to be achieved and that the intervention techniques to be used make a lot of sense to you and therefore, you can apply them more efficiently.

Another technique is to learn how to regulate the physiological responses of the body with breathing techniques among other ways – therapeutic writing is used which allows to reflect on specific aspects of your reason for the consultation. You may also work with useful readings and other strategies that suit you and your possibilities.

Follow-Up

Once you have achieved the goals you established, there will be occasional meetings where we will value how you feel, whether you maintain your achievements or if you need to make any adjustments. These follow-ups will only for a period of time until there is stability in the changes.

    Online psychological therapy is characterised by therapeutic meetings via video call, using the technological facilities we currently have to connect with each other as an alternative to face-to-face therapy. 

     

    It is a space where you can make a journey towards aspects of yourself that you consider important in the company of a professional who has extensively studied all aspects related to our human psychology.  Therefore, it is a safe space where you can observe, feel, re-signify, conclude and act according to the objectives that are important to you at a given moment in your life and that generate emotional well-being. 

     

    Psychological meetings consist of a dialogue where active listening and reflection allow us to realise the best way to deal with our emotional concerns; this dialogue is supported, depending on the case, with activities or dynamics inside and outside the sessions aimed at achieving the therapeutic objectives. 

     

    The first part of the psychological evaluation is the assessment, where the idea is to get to know you: how you think, how you feel, how you act, how your body reacts in relation to your particular context and the reason for your consultation. Then follows the intervention, where we apply the most effective psychological techniques to achieve your goals, then we follow up to reinforce the results achieved.

    The main advantages of online therapy are that you can connect from the comfort of wherever you are, transcending distances, and on the other hand, it saves travel time and investment in transport. 

    Additionally, it allows you to continue a therapeutic process when there are changes in circumstances such as a change of home or country, as well as an injury or illness that prevents or makes it difficult to travel.

    Online therapy can work with the most often consulted mental health problems. Improvement depends on several factors such as consistency, openness to treatment, teamwork within therapy, and a good evaluation that facilitates understanding of the case and thus determining the most effective techniques for each case. Given all of these factors a significant improvement is achieved.

    However, there are specific psychological disorders that require techniques where face-to-face contact is essential.

    It is important to work with young children face-to-face because their brain development requires tangible, concrete contact with both people and the elements involved in therapy.

    All the information that is worked on online therapy is kept with the same confidentiality as the face-to-face therapy: Informed consents are signed, and only the psychologist who takes the case has access to all the physical and digital files.  Sessions are conducted just like face-to-face therapy in a practice where there is privacy to talk freely without exposing that information to third parties and the platform where the video calls are made is secure.

    An internet connection is needed and a mobile, computer or tablet for the video call.

    The same as a face-to-face session.  One hour for individual sessions and an hour and a half for couples and families.

    The price of a therapy session online is 70€

    Payment can be made either by bank transfer, PayPal or Bizum prior to the session.
